01 / YOUR ROOMS

What would you like refreshed?

Measure in metres. We calculate the total wall and ceiling surface area—not just the floor. Leave windows and doors in your measurements; their edges still need preparation.

Full-room prices include walls and ceiling. Painting also includes the room’s woodwork and doors; hall, stairs and landing includes the banister. For both services in the same room, or selected surfaces only, choose “Individual review”.

02 / A FEW DETAILS

Let’s make it personal.

Customer enquiries only. Unsolicited sales, SEO, website and marketing pitches are not accepted and will not receive a reply.

This is an estimate request, not a reserved date. Boult will confirm availability separately.

Up to 5 JPG, PNG or WebP photos, 5MB each / 15MB total. Use 0.5× zoom to show the whole room and close-ups of damage. You can send videos or iPhone HEIC photos by WhatsApp afterwards. Avoid people or personal documents in photos.

Submitting sends your details to Boult so he can follow up. No marketing signup.

A proper finish, with the preparation included.

What’s included in plastering?

Protection, standard preparation and sealing of suitable backgrounds, beads and scrim where needed, and skimming walls and ceiling to a smooth finish. Boarding, extensive bonding, damp or failing plaster need individual assessment.

What’s included in painting?
  1. Protect floors and mask surrounding surfaces.
  2. Fully sand walls and woodwork; carry out general filling and sanding of minor imperfections, and remove dust.
  3. Prepare ceilings and caulk appropriate small gaps.
  4. Apply a suitable mist coat or primer to dry fresh plaster where needed.
  5. Prime woodwork and apply two coats of satin, including doors and the HSL banister.
  6. Apply two coats of Albany AF1 ceiling paint and two coats of Johnstone’s Durable wall paint in the agreed colour.
  7. Remove protection and leave the room tidy.

Extensive repairs, wallpaper removal or substantial extra preparation require an agreed allowance for labour and materials. Special finishes or unusually extensive woodwork need review.

How reliable is my estimate?

Standard rooms use Boult’s fixed size bands. Extra small: up to 40m²; small: over 40–50m²; medium: over 50–60m²; large: over 60–75m² of walls plus ceiling. The calculation uses rectangular room dimensions without deducting openings. Irregular rooms, larger spaces and non-standard work are reviewed individually rather than given a misleading total. Photos are needed before the final quote is confirmed.
